Merry Christmas!
Deck the halls—it's Christmas time! Christmas Day is a holiday filled with joy, warmth and cherished traditions. For many, it's a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, bringing family and friends together to exchange gifts, share meals and enjoy festive decor. Beyond its spiritual roots, Christmas also illuminates the season with beloved customs—decorating trees, carolling and eagerly awaiting Santa's arrival. These traditions, blending both old and new, make the holiday a magical experience filled with connection and cheer.
Picture this: Christmas trees adorned with sparkling lights and snowflakes, framed by the mighty Three Sisters mountains, as seen in today's image. These peaks in Canmore, Alberta—Big Sister (Faith), Middle Sister (Charity) and Little Sister (Hope)—aren't just another mountain range. Rising to heights of 3,000 metres approximately, these peaks were originally named the 'Three Nuns' by Albert Rogers, as they resembled nuns in white veils after a winter storm. However, in 1886, Canadian geologist George Dawson renamed them the 'Three Sisters.' While their rugged faces attract hikers and climbers during warmer months, in the Christmas season, they inspire awe from below. So, whether you're here for the scenery, the stories or just that festive holiday energy, the Three Sisters never disappoint. Christmas spirit? Checked, wrapped and ready under these mountains!
